Wordpress

David O'Callaghan has created an authentication module to Wordpress that works with SimpleSAMLphp.

This plugin uses some hooks in WordPress's authentication system to bypass the normal login screen and authenticate using a simpleSAMLphp Service Provider (SP) instead. Note that logged-in state is still maintained in cookies, and user entries are created in the local database.

Gforge

Gforge has been patched to allow Shibboleth authentication ; however the shib-based authentication is limited to web-based services, not available for Subversion. The patch is used on the CRU server but has not been published yet.

Sympa

Sympa is an open source mailing list software developped by the CRU. It has lots of middleware connectors, including one for Shibboleth. This extension is distributed with the software and is not Shibboleth specific because it does not use a SAML library but relies on the Shibboleth SP instead.

SAKAI

Sakai is an online Collaboration and Learning Environment. Many users of Sakai deploy it to support teaching and learning, ad hoc group collaboration, support for portfolios and research collaboration.

Sakai is a free and open source product that is built and maintained by the Sakai community. Sakai's development model is called "Community Source" because many of the developers creating Sakai are drawn from the "community" of organizations that have adopted and are using Sakai.

Integration

Stockholm university has developed support for shibboleth authentication for sakai. This work is currently presented as a set of patches which can be applied to a 2.3 or 2.4 source tree.

Currently you need to apply the following two patches: sessionend-fix.patch which fixes issues with the sakai session handling and su-shibb.patch which contains the main sakai shibboleth support.

Fronter

The platform has extensive functionality within learning management (LMS) and publishing and content production (LCMS). A great strength resides in collaboration and personal management. Fronter functions as a portal as well as providing system administration, set-up and integration. Currently, the platform consists of almost 100 different tools, all within the above-mentioned categories, covering most everyday ICT tasks for the teacher and learner.

Fronter is available to more than 3 million users, across more than 3000 schools in 8 European countries, with the largest installations consisting of several hundred schools.

eZ Publish

Feide have contact with a developer team that is working on a simpleSAMLphp authentication module for eZ publish that will allow integration with both SAML 2.0 and Shibboleth 1.3.

That module is contributed by Møre og Romsdal Fylkeskommune, and is now available. See the link below.
